The delightful composition of this Bakhtiari carpet is only exceeded in beauty by the use of the soft reds blues, greens, tan, pale yellow and pink. The central design composition is a favorite of ours and the black spandrel corners of the main field add drama. Overall, the rug has a desirable low nap, and even with some wear showing in minor spots, but not to distraction. Hand tied, Southwest Iran, mid 20th century.
