In a warm patina, this Baroque, William and Mary small highboy speaks of its 17th century past. The later floral decorated hardware is of the correct style for the period. The bold turned and black painted legs are trumpet form with bun feet joined by serpentine stretchers (some restoration). In two parts, the base has handsome iron side lifts for convenience. H. 47″, w. 36″, d. 24.75″. $2400.
Above the highboy is a well detailed American portrait. See my website for details under “art”.
