This period sofa had graced the Carlyle House apartment of Ellin Saltzman, a fashion industry icon, and her husband, a prominent New York designer. An elegant example of fine design, taste, and artful construction, the dramatic design includes a strong serpentine crest supported at each side by curving, shaped, scrolled arms that rake to the front. The reversible down filled cushion is above the Marlboro mahogany legs with stretchers.
