These Spanish 17th century walnut armchairs are of sturdy construction and have but minor repair. The heavy leather covered backs and seats would have been further softened with down cushions in this period. Note the large brass nail heads holding the leather. The pierced rectilinear lower stretchers at front and the cast brass urn classical finials are an ear mark of early Spanish chairs. H. 42.5″, w. 27″, d. 23.5″ . $750 the pair.
