Elegant Sheraton armchair, ca.1800-20s in well carved mahogany and covered in a beautiful dark emerald green silk with an appropriate Napoleonic bee pattern. The tall back with a serpentine crest is distinctive to American lolling chairs. Of particular interest are the carved tassel-form arm supports over tapered reeded front legs terminating in brass bucket castors.
