Old Paris Urn, ca 1840. These porcelain urns were often mantle pieces but have been easily and often adapted to lamp forms.
Here Napoleon sits in a gilt Empire armchair writing on a pedestal table. A commode at the rear wall is holding an urn. Please note the famous leader’s hat and cane on the Romanesque tabouret at right.
