New york federal breakfast table
New York Federal breakfast table, circa 1810-30, in the heaviest mahogany timber that might be bought. The shaped dropleaf top has a cockbeaded working drawer as well as a false drawer at the ends and further ornamented with acorn turned drops. Below, a powerful spiral reeded urn stands on a incurvate plateau holding saber legs featuring rosettes, reeding, and cast brass paw feet. No major restoration, minor chips. It is a beauty as a side table!
H. 29″, closed 39″ x 23″, open 50.5″ $ 795.
