New england corner chair New england corner chair side view

New England William and Mary corner chair, maple, circa 1720. This rush seat example carries robust turnings on all four legs beneath a shaped or sawn back. These corner chairs were also called roundabout chairs, and are quite useful as desk chairs or pull up chairs in the living area. Most often used with a cushion.
