New England Chippendale four drawer bowfront chest with a molded edge overhang top above graduated drawers. This bold chest was beautifully made in the late 18th century of cherry using all the excellent craftsmanship of the era with large cherry planks.
The chest is supported by substantial carved ogee bracket feet. The bowed front adds grace and style to the design. The old batwing brasses are later and of the correct period style. Condition is sound and quite original having only the most minor imperfections.
