New England Antique Lolling Chairs – SOLD

Also from a local collection, two New England antique lolling chairs, in mahogany. Both are very comfortable with raked backs. The damask covers are correct in style but older and with imperfections. The left is a Hepplewhite model, circa 1785+ with molded arms and front legs below a serpentine crest.
H. 40.5″, w. 27″, d. 30″. $600.  At right is a Chippendale example circa 1760+ with molded legs and arms and stretchers below. This graceful armchair is just right for the living room or distinguished study. A great value at $900.
