Neoclassical Egyptian bronze figural candlesticks.
This companion pair of bronze female Egyptian figures are mounted with typical English brass reeded candle cups and mounted on marble blocks with hand cut nuts. The style reflects the intense interest in classical subjects in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, in particular, the earliest exotic Egyptian culture.
These are the only examples I know.
They are also shown in the second image against the background of an English classical over-mantle with Egyptian herms.
H. 11.5″, w. 3.75″, d. 3.75″. $390 the pair.
