Louis XVI transitional commode. A gray and white marble top with a molded edge is above a case three short fielded paneled drawers with fretwork corners over two similar long drawers. Ormolu caste bronze corners, sabots, and ring pulls highlight the case which is veneered in mahogany and exotic woods. A central drop below is mounted with ormolu tendrils. Much restored and now polished for your display and use. All drawers slide well and retain locks. H. 32.5″, w. 37″, d. 17″.

Below, the French maker’s name is impressed into the top of the left leg. We are still researching this. This will be a late 18th or early 19th century maker.
