“Leafage Scroll” Looking Glass, Circa 1760.

A classic form  from the Chippendale period is this “leafage scroll” looking glass, circa 1760. The surround is mahogany veneers with a molded rim at the glass edge. At the upper glass corners are  “lamb’s tongue” corners. The crest is highlighted with a central phoenix or ho-ho bird with piercing behind. Minor repairs as is typical. Brighten up your hall.
