George III Library Table

Although we’ve owned a number of fine sofa or library tables, I did not expect to find this rare treasure. Of well grained mahogany with banding on drawers and line inlay overall. The quill and ink drawer at the far right on both sides is unique. This finely done drawer, which is hidden as a quarter section, slides fully out of the case to allow the writer to adjust its position for convenience. The special hinging was hand crafted for this piece. Both sides of the table are done identically. This is an opportunity to get a table made for someone with very specific demands and the willingness to pay for these custom features.
