French Louis XVI settee, recently recovered in a soft off-white sateen cover. The frame has been reglued and restored in stone white with gilt highlights. The central crest is finely carved with a basket, wheat, foliage and a shovel. Floral details trail down the arms to rosettes in tablets at the tops of the legs. The back is framed in ribbon and beaded detail over a base with fluted legs. Typical pegged construction. H. 36″, w. 44″, d. 27″. $2395 in ready to display and enjoy condition.
