A reverse view showing these things the way we like to see them in a naturally dark brown oxidized, old “tobacco brown” finish. This was colored by age, not stain.

Crowned with a fantastical pierced cresting, which centers on a bird sitting atop its gilded cage with an open door. The cage door actually removes.
