French Directoire settee, circa 1800-1810. Unusual and most desirable in this small size, this walnut settee has an older French ticking stripe cover showing its age. The cushion is my favorite, down.
Here you can witness the transition from the Louis XVI style to the more restrained Directoire with the elimination of the flutes at legs and arm supports. This one has a lovely old patina and is in sound structural order. It could fit so many places.
