English Hepplewhite type highly inlaid sideboard, circa 1785+. In rare demi-lune form, dense flame grained mahogany is outlined with satinwood borders with cockbeading and panels inset with satinwood ovals. The top is banded and rimmed with light wood line inlay. Later brass pulls of exceptional quality. Mahogany used in this period is unsurpassed in quality.
The best Hepplewhite tapered leg that we have seen. Carved in dense mahogany, the leg is five sided to conform to the curving case and terminates in a spade foot.
