English Hepplewhite mahogany sideboard, ca. 1785. This graceful bowfront sideboard has a banded top and drawers with much line inlay throughout. The color is a richly grained brown. The inlaid ached central “bridge” stands above slender tapered legs terminating in spade feet. Note: these tops are constructed, not solid planks, and will show shrinkage cracks. All part of the aged effects! A clever side door like I’ve never seen before covers a small compartment at the side. Is this for the owner’s special bottle or maybe an ice bag?
This will be an elegant feature for your dining room with lots of storage. Old finish and patina.
