British chiffonier, circa 1820s, is of mahogany in a polished old finish. Ormolu mounts and gilt moldings highlight the surface. The upper shelf is rimmed by a pierced brass rail held by lyre form supports with ormolu. Cupboard doors have brass screening in front of storage shelves. Fitting for an elegant dining room or other porcelain display. These very much copied the French taste including ormolu gilt mounts as decoration.
