Antique Dutch tableau of a landscape in a folk art style, early 19th century. 16 white tiles with manganese coloring form a ribbon work frame with rosette corners showing forth a folk art scene with several figures, a cart and two windmills. Various well-done repairs, as is typical of Delft. First made in the 18th century, tableau are rare and were expensive when created. Here, as is typical, the tiles are mounted on oak boards and framed in dark oak.
