American Rhode Island Highboy, ca. 1740-90

American Rhode Island highboy, ca. 1740-90. In dazzling tiger maple, the golden grain dances across the facade as you walk past this well patinaed piece. The arcaded apron is flanked by well drawn cabriole legs with slipper feet. Later correct style brasses, no major restoration. Highboys are my favorites in American furniture.
H. 68.5″, w. 39.5″, d. 20,75″. $4500.
