American “Fancy” Settee, ca. 1810 – SOLD

American ” fancy” settee, ca. 1810. Elegant Sheraton furniture was generally finished with paint, which through wear and use is often lost. On this great expression of the American Federal era, the natural light hardwood has taken on a soft and mellow tone. With this sturdy caned seat, an upholstered loose cushion could be added. This would show well in a hallway where your guest mighty sit briefly or would serve well in a sunroom or garden room.
H. 33″ w. 74″, d. 24″. $750.
