Italian lacquered commodino. This Italian 18th-century commode is in a most desirable small size, measuring 33″ high, 25″ wide, and 17.5″ deep. Most striking is the black lacquer finish with gilt moldings and gilt bronze ormolu mounts on a serpentine shaped case below a colorful Breche marble top. The marble is repolished or later, and with some pitting. The bold cabriole legs terminate in hoof feet with layered gilt. normal shrinkage and wear.
