This life size bronze portrays a young woman holding a broad brimmed hat aloft to deflect a summer downpour. The scene is a foil for a fountain which spills out into the hat and drips onto the nymph as if she is caught in the rain. She sits against a tree stump as support in a forest- like setting. The detail is precise and patinaed effectively. Of later 20th century origin, with quality workmanship and talent, this sturdy bronze is about 5′ 8″ tall overall and weighs under 200 pounds.
