Attracted by its excellent proportion, I purchased this late 18th century stool as George III, in the French taste, ca. 1790. I was tempted by its design, thinking that this could be French. It is of beech, which it could be from either source.
The lines are delicate and finely drawn with scrolled legs capped by leaves. There is some old worming to the wood but it is structurally sound. A most convenient piece for you to own in any room.
