Majolica flask, 18th century A gem of a Delft type flask done as a book to conceal its use and contents. An acanthus scroll decorates the sides. I’ve had the American and English versions but never this little rarity. Call it Delft, faience, or Majolica, it is done of pottery with a very hard glaze, thus the chips are part of the character and history in this type of material. Most curious unfamiliar. We cannot find images of another antique example. H. 5.25″, w. 4″.
