18th Century Georgian Walnut Armchair

Frank Partridge belongs to the fourth generation of one of England’s major art and antique dealing families, founded in 1900 by the present Frank Partridge’s great grandfather. These fine chairs were purchased from their gallery and one carries their label.
Above, this 18th century Georgian walnut armchair carries  a molded serpentine crest with carved ears centering on a fan above a carved splat with gadrooning, leafage , and scrolling. The slip seats, now freshly recovered in olive green velvet are above a shaped rail with vining leafage flanked by bold cabriole legs. The knees have carved cabochons centered on shell work over lion’s paw feet. the armchair, h.38″, w. 27.5″, w. 23.5″. To be sold separately at  $2250.
