Louis XVI bergere, 18th century

Just covered in a fabulous Pierre Frey silk, this Louis XVIII bergere presents the flowing lines of the French neoclassical period. A molded crest shoulders to padded arms terminating in scrolls over  a down filled loose cushion. Below, the base with a molded rim, holds turned, tapered, and fluted legs. There are no major repairs and it retains the old finish with a fresh polish.  H. 37″, w. 27″,  d. 30″ .
This is another piece from the Mary Griggs Burke collection which I have mentioned here before.
