Decorated Continental officer in uniform, ca. 1827

A decorated Continental officer in uniform.  This is a well painted image with the date 1827 and the initials, AJ (the artist), at the right. Uniforms really add to portraits with great colors and medals. The buttons and medals are silver, the cape red, and the jacket, dark blue-gray. White gloves, collar, and epaulets complete the dramatic effect. Typical craquelure. He is 28.25″ x 23″ overall.  Later high quality framing.
