Chippendale side chairs, 18th century

These mid -18th century mahogany side chairs would work well as a “companion” pair. This type has wonderful grace, boldness, and movement in the Chippendale form. Both are possibly New York. The shaped crests have carved ears over curving uprights flanking pierced splats. The seats are in a perfect recent damask above the most curvaceous cabriolet legs with pad feet. All is in excellent scale and proportion. Minor imperfections.  I offer them singly at $850 each. Each approximately: h. 37″, w. 21″, d. 20″.
