Of the late 17th or early 18th century, this French sofa offers the distinctive features of the baroque era. The undulating crest is above sweeping arms. An important signature is the “mouton” or sheep’s leg with typical curving stretchers. The legs retain a pleasant old finish and have minor restoration associated with the era. The fabric is an old silk resist Fortuny example that should be left intact and shows minor effects of age. H. 43”,w. 75″, d. 34″. $2775.
