Richard B. Spencer was a British painter active between 1840 and 1873. His subjects were mainly sailing vessels or naval engagements. This colorful portrayal is in clean condition and displays numerous flags, endless deck detail with sailors, and many distant ships, buildings and shore. It is ready to sail above your mantel or sideboard. Signed lower left and also carries an attribution plaque. Minor restoration, relined.  H. 27.5″, w. 41.5″.
