18th century English mirror, ca. 1785

 18th century English mirror. This well conceived and executed looking glass is crested with an urn of wheat resting on acanthus leaves and flanked by tendril scrolls.  Egg and dart molding frames the old glass. The apron finishes with leafage swags on a central pennant. All is in a wonderful worn gilt surface of charm and beauty. The original hand beveled glass is still there with the old backboard in place. H. 43″, w. 15.5.  $1700.
